Anecdote of the Day

Hansadutta Dasa : In the early days at 26 Second Avenue, Kirtanananda tried to impose austerities on everyone. Every Sunday there'd be a lot of sweet balls left over from the feast and for Monday's breakfast we'd drop those sweet balls in our hot farina cereal. It was a delightful breakfast. But Kirtanananda insisted that we couldn't have more than two sweet balls each and that became an issue we haggled over at istagosthi. We couldn't resolve it, so it came to Prabhupada's attention. Everybody assembled. The problem was laid out before Prabhupada and Prabhupada said, "So everyone can have as many sweet balls as they like. But Kirtanananda can only have two." That was Prabhupada's sense of humor.
