Reprimand by the spiritual master as a special mercy

Satsvarupa Dasa: Jayadvaita Swami tells of the time when he was a new devotee and was allowed to assist in cooking for Prabhupada in Boston. Jayadvaita made a few mistakes and Prabhupada reprimanded him, saying that he didn't have any brains. Jayadvaita had previously heard that a reprimand by the spiritual master was a serious thing, but he couldn't help feeling very blissful when Prabhupada was raking him over the coals. He sensed that he was getting special mercy.
