We have to go somewhere after death. We are going to Godhead. And you do not know where you'll go.

Prabhupada took his walk in Lodi Park this morning. His conversation was light as he enjoyed the pleasant aspect of neat, well-kept gardens with raised walkways lined with bottle palms and immaculate lawns. He noted the many neem trees, commenting that they were unique to India. He mentioned the $60,000 daily book distribution income and told us, "This is preaching, real preaching. Substantial. It will remain." As he walked at a steady pace Prabhupada noted the several large mausoleums dating back 550 years to the time of the most prominent kings of the Lodi empire. Harikesa Maharaja reflected how they were good examples of the decoration of the dead body. Prabhupada recalled seeing similar buildings in Rome, which are visited by thousands of tourists. He quoted the verse yanti deva-vrata devan and told us, "After this body, one has to go somewhere. So this is the description, who will go where. Mad-yajino 'pi mam. Those who are preparing to go back to Godhead, they can go. Otherwise, if you want to go in the higher planetary system or in the lower planet ... That you also go." He said that if someone enquires, "Why you are chanting?" the simple reply is that, "We have to go somewhere after death. We are going to Godhead. And you do not know where you'll go."
