Krishna Jayanti Park.'

Hari Sauri Dasa: Prabhupada was driven to the Buddha Jayanti commemorative Park for his walk this morning. It is a spacious park with natural rocky outcrops cleverly integrated with carefully cultivated patches of bright purple shrubs and groves of frangipani, neem, and banyan trees. Spacious lawns are divided by manmade waterways and connected by small bridges and dams. Walking down the red, sandstone pathways that wind in and out of clumps of bamboo, bougainvillaea groves, and various types of shrubs, Srila Prabhupada discussed an idea with Mr. Agarwal to transform an adjoining 100 acres of undeveloped land into a 'Krishna Jayanti Park.' Mr. Agarwal reasoned that Lord Krishna was a far more important and enduring figure in the history of India than Lord Buddha, so why not a park in His honor? Prabhupada liked his idea and encouraged him to do it.
