Success of the travelling Library Distribution

Satsvarupa Dasa Goswami: It was in the midst of an active, several-day visit to Geneva that Prabhupada suddenly gave me a new service. It was not my doing, but as when I joined Srila Prabhupada as his servant, it came from Prabhupada himself. Even before arriving in Geneva, while we were in Bombay, Prabhupada had often spoken to groups of devotees about a preaching project just starting in America - the effort to distribute sets of his books to university libraries.

Hridayananda Maharaja had taken the group of brahmacaris, formerly my traveling party, and done successful experimental work at the colleges in New England. Now whenever there was a meeting of devotees or a public lecture, Prabhupada would tell how his books were being well received by the American college professors. He repeatedly had me bring in and read to him a letter written by Ramesvara describing the success of the traveling library distribution team. The report described that Yale University and others had taken standing orders of the complete sixty volumes of the Bhagavatam and seventeen volumes of Caitanya-caritamrita.
