Brahmana Initiation - Please tell me one more time

Prasannatma Dasa: That temple was finished. Prabhupada came. And my president Surabhi Swami recommended, even though I was maybe three-four months, to get initiated. So I become from Padmanabhan to Prasannatma. And it was initiated in the courtyard by Srila Prabhupada on Rama-navami.

So after Rama-navami, so the temple was new... Me, Akshayananda Swami was the president. We were travelling all around UP, preaching and collecting money from many different places, mostly in Kanpur. We did not have any money. We were just living wherever we can and eating some potato-vada or whatever was available, so we have to send the money to the temple. Anyway, after preaching many months, we came back. Janmastami... Prabhupada came back. And Akshayananda Swami recommended me to take brahmana initiation. So I got brahmana initiated at that time.

When I went to Prabhupada’s room, he was telling me how to count. For some reason after even three times, he showed me, I was not able to count properly. So he chastised me. Then I told him, "Please tell me one more time Prabhupada, I will figure it out." So he was kind enough to tell me one more time. Then I was able to do it on my own.
