Is she sick?

Vrindavana Vilasini Devi Dasi: One funny one, but this is a little embarrassing so I don’t know, but I can tell you but it’s really kind of funny. Brahmananda, he has passed now, when he was a sannyasi, he had come with Prabhupada to Los Angeles. He got all excited and he said he wanted the ladies to learn certain things that the ladies in India do. And I don’t know why he decided to call me and then teach me. And I was supposed to teach all the other ladies right. So he tried to teach me how to yodel, you know, the 'Uuluu.' Of course, I couldn’t quite get that one down.

Then he said all the ladies to wear sarees over the head, like this (face fully covered). They do this, I forget what else he tried to teach me, but those are the two I remember. So, me being very submissive or dumb, I took it rather seriously because he was a sannyasi.

So in the next Srimad-Bhagavatam class, I was sitting there in front of Prabhupada with my saree like this. I always sit at Prabhupada’s feet and there’s hundreds of people in the room. Prabhupada looks over at me and goes, "Is she sick? Is something wrong with her? Tell her to put her saree up." And so in front of everyone I had to put my saree up. I could have killed Brahmananda, he was very playful.
