Visakha Devi Dasi: As I explored the Bombay city, I saw billboards and banners: “Hare Krishna Festival at Cross Maidan, March 25th to April 4th, His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and His American and European Disciples, All Are Welcome,” with a larger than life photograph of Prabhupada. After successful programs in Surat, Indore, Gorakhpur and other towns, the small band of devotees who had arrived in India with Prabhupada in the fall of 1970 were staging their first grand program in a major Indian city.
