Visakha Devi Dasi: One morning I was chanting there, enjoying the atmosphere and solitude and planning to skip the temple program, which had come to feel predictable to me, but then I suddenly heard how extra enthusiastic the temple kirtana was. I peered over the roof wall and, although the open-sided temple was on the far edge of the property, I could see devotees there jumping high with their arms raised. “Why such an extra infusion of energy?” I thought, “What’s happening?” Then I saw: Prabhupada was sitting on the vyasasana!—he'd unexpectedly returned. Feeling foolish, I rushed down the stairs and ran to the temple, where excitement so filled the air that no one noticed me blustering in from the back.
