There is competition in the spiritual world
Ramesvara: Once I wrote a letter to Srila Prabhupada about competition. Prabhupada wrote back that there is competition in the spiritual world. There is competition in Krishnaloka amongst the gopis for Krishna's affection. But there is a difference between material competition and spiritual competition.
Prabhupada was very clear about this in his letter. He stated that in material competition you want to bring down the person you are competing with. In spiritual competition everyone is trying to please the same person, Krishna, and if someone exceeds you, you are not interested in bringing them down. You are glorifying them because they've pleased the One you love. He said, "Yes, competition, like everything, it exists in the spiritual world in its pure form."
