Removing Unhappiness

In time of war, a bewildered devotee
turns to KRSNA book. Srila Prabhupada says,
“They are not ordinary stories ...
Those who are reading KRSNA book
become delivered from the clutches
of birth and death.”

Lord Balarama told Rukmini,
“Don’t be sorry that the ksatriyas fight.
They are typical emblems
of the materialistic way of life;
they become puffed-up,
and try to put one another
into the most abominable condition.”
Then Balarama turned to Lord Krsna and said,
“You should forgive, even though
he deserves to be killed.”

Balarama saw everyone as spirit-soul,
the same in every body;
regardless of nation or race,
the soul is eternal.

“Sweet, smiling Rukmini, do not be aggrieved.
Only by false notions does one become unhappy.
Remove this unhappiness
by discussing the philosophy of actual life.
Be happy on that platform only.”

No one else can tell me
what I need to hear tonight.
