A garland for Radha Damodara

Gargamuni Dasa: How many people came to Radha Damodara a day, three or four, bas! That's all, nobody. Now there's hundreds and hundreds. But at that time three or four people would come. And when I was there the Deities were not very well taken care of. There were too many Deities, because the sevaites there illegally sold some of the land of other gosvami's, and brought the Deities to Radha Damodara. And Prabhupada was very upset over that, because when I was there, which was in the fall, the Deities were wrapped with bed sheet. One bed sheet was wrapped around all the Deities. That was their dress. And with hundreds of cockroaches, big ones, walking all over them, I mean it was very distressful to see that. They would only, I guess, dress the Deity on festival days when some people would come. And they never had a flower. They never had any flower garland on them. So Prabhupada, when I went there, he gave me a maintenance of 100 rupees a month to live on. So we didn't actually use that money for ourselves, rather we spent three rupees a day for a garland for Radha Damodara.
