Introduction to Bhagavad-gita

Gargamuni Dasa: And it's in that office building that Prabhupada recorded the introduction to Gitopanishad, which is the actual introduction used in the printing of the first Bhagavad-gita. It's an actual audio recording Prabhupada did over a number of days, because its three hours long. And it was done in February, in the middle of February of ‘66. There wasn't any ISKCON. ISKCON started in July, six months later. Prabhupada's alone in that office, recording his own voice of the introduction of Gitopanishad, which later was transcribed onto paper. So it was thirty pages long. I was able to print it on the mimeograph machines, and it became a little booklet. In fact, it was the thickest booklet because Back to Godhead was only twenty pages. And I had to do the stapling with a staple machine; twenty pages was easy. But the staple wouldn't work on thirty pages. So I had to go out and spend money on a special staple, just to staple thirty pages of the introduction to the Gitopanisad, which I printed on the mimeograph.
