Prabhupada questions the Jesuit priest of Australia

Sabhapati Dasa: Prabhupada met with the second head Jesuit priest in Australia. The Jesuits are supposed to be the intellectuals of the Catholic Church, and Prabhupada met with him.

When Prabhupada met with him, the guy asked a few questions, "What are your beliefs and tenets?" And Prabhupada just got up and said, "We don't do it, we don't, we're vegetarian, we don't kill animals." Then straight away he said, "In the Bible it says: 'Thou shalt not kill', so why are you killing animals?" Just laid it straight on the guy, right, "Why are you killing animals?" Prabhupada just went on and on and on, and after about five minutes, the priest had enough and he said, "Can we talk about something else? Can we talk about other spiritual matters?"

Prabhupada said, "Until you stop eating meat, you will never understand anything spiritual."
