Crucial time for Prabhupada

Sankarshana Dasa: One of his brothers, he used to stay in our house. His name was Krishna Charan De. We have heard many things from Krishna Charan prabhu. So many things he told us that, "My brother, Abhay Charan prabhu, he was a big business man in Allahabad. But due to this Krishna Consciousness movement and due to the association of a nitya-siddha, Bhaktisiddanta Sarasvati Thakura, he left everything. That's why he was just like a beggar."

That was in 1950. It was a very crucial time for Prabhupada. He came back to Calcutta and stayed in Chetla, just little money, renting a room where sons, daughters, wife was there. But automatically, I told you he was very, very fond of, to fulfill the desire of Bhaktisiddanta. So 1965 he left everything, Calcutta. He went abroad. Actually he left his family members in the beginning in 1953 or 1954. However before going abroad, he left his family and stayed in Vrindavana.
