Prabhupada liked Bhavatarini's cooking

Sankarshana Dasa: Family reaction mean he never… He is a sannyasi. A sannyasi cannot meet his wife, a sannyasi cannot meet his son, a sannyasi cannot meet his daughter. That is his vow. He is such a type of sannyasi that he came - we did not know this thing - then he went back again to foreign country.

Again he came back in 1970 in the month of August, 30th August. Then we came to know that Prabhupada is here in Hindustan Park Road. I had heard from my father, so I went to meet him. That time also he told me, "Can you inform Bhavatarini?" His sister. "Do you know her house?" I said, "Yes Prabhupada, I know her house. Her house is in Taltala in Calcutta." Prabhupada told me, "Go find out. Go and inform that I am here." So I went and found out the house in Doctor Lane in Taltala. I informed Pishima and brought her.

Prabhupada used to talk with his sister. But I have seen just… He used to talk mostly with his sister because his sister was widow and she was a disciple of Goswami Maharaja. She took initiation from Goswami Maharaja. She joined when Srila Bhaktisiddanta Sarasvati was here. So, many times Prabhupada remembering Bhavatarini because she is a first class devotee. She is a first class cook. My wife, Saci Mata, also learned cooking from Pishima. We used to call Pishima. This I know little family background.

One day, it happened in Calcutta temple, again Prabhupada came in 1972 from abroad. It was night time. Then again Prabhupada called me. That time I was not initiated. It was 1972. He told me again… That time it was very difficult to connect over the phone. Only the rich men can use the phone, land phone. But Pishima's house there was no phone. So we have to inform him. Prabhupada called me and requested me to go to Bhavatarini's house and call her. I went there and I said, "Prabhupada is calling you. You have to cook something for Prabhupada." So Prabhupada was very interested to take prasadam cooked by his sister Bhavatarini.
