Kurma: Srila Prabhupada took his morning walk on the pathway running the length of St. Kilda Beach; along with him went his servant and secretary, the temple president and a couple of temple devotees, Hari-sauri and Dvaipayana. It was a particularly cold and blustery day, and Srila Prabhupada was wrapped in his heavy, grey chaddar.
Srila Prabhupada walked very briskly. When it was time to return to the temple, Prabhupada's car pulled up, and Srila Prabhupada and his entourage got in. The two young brahmacaris offered their obeisances on the kerbside. The car was already full. However, not seeing any visible means of transport for the two young men, Prabhupada opened the window, and, indicating for the driver to wait, asked them if they would like to come. The brahmacaris, although honored and tempted to accept the offer, explained that they had their own vehicle parked up the road. Prabhupada said, "Oh," and the car drove off. The men were struck with Prabhupada's consideration.
The incident once again confirmed that even at the expense of his own comfort, Prabhupada was always concerned about the practical everyday well-being of his disciples.
