Vaiyasaki: Srila Prabhupada conducts the first Deity installation in ISKCON and performs first arati.

At 518 Frederick Street, the Deities of Jagannatha, Baladeva, and Subhadra were installed in Their new home in San Francisco. The devotees had been following the devotional processes of shravana and kirtana, hearing and chanting, but now with the installation of Lord Jagannatha, archana or Deity worship was introduced by Srila Prabhupada. Srila Prabhupada also introduced a new mantra, jagannatha svami nayana pathagami bhavatu me, meaning, "O Jagannatha, Lord of the Universe, kindly be visible unto me."
