November 5, 1977 : Vrindavana
Daivi Shakti: Prabhupada created the Bhaktivedanta Swami Charity Trust. Its objectives were to renovate the holy places in Bengal connected with Lord Chaitanya, to provide facilities for pilgrims in these places, and to unite the followers of Lord Chaitanya, especially those descended from Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura.
To accomplish these goals, Prabhupada arranged that the interest of some ISKCON fixed deposits go directly to the Charity Trust. He appointed a committee of senior disciples to allocate these funds for needy projects.
On November 5, 1977, Prabhupada signed the legal documents with a strong signature despite his weak condition. It was yet another victory, a dream come true that he had contemplated since returning to Vrindavana.
